Andrew MlcakExecutive Director
Andrew has been working at ACT since 2007 and became the Executive Director in 2017. After working two Summers at Camp Summit, Andrew decided to dedicate the majority of his time to working with people with special needs. His favorite thing about working here is the unconditional love of the clients. When he's not working, Andrew enjoys going to the lake, skeet shooting and fishing.
Amanda WoodardMarketing Director
Amanda has been working at ACT since 2017. Although interacting with the clients is not something she gets to do every day, she loves sneaking away from her desk to watch them in dance class or hear them sing karaoke. When she’s not working, Amanda enjoys reading mystery and Sci-fi novels, writing poetry and personal essays and spending time with friends.
Margie RodriguezProgram Coordinator
Margie has been working at ACT since 2000. She volunteered with our center at our previous location, and when a few positions opened up at the new location, she jumped at the opportunity. She loves seeing the positive changes in the students and watching their self-confidence grow. When she’s not working, Margie enjoys drawing, painting and reading.
Noel has been working with ACT since 2007. He started his career here because he wanted to gain insight to the operations of a non-profit entity. His favorite part about working here is the family-like atmosphere. When he's not working, Noel enjoys learning new languages and experiencing new and exotic cuisines.
Diana DavisLead Teacher & Supervisor
Diana has been working with ACT since 2013. She started working with people with special needs in high school and leapt at the opportunity to work at ACT when a position opened up. She loves seeing the daily progress in the clients. When she's not working, Diana enjoys writing, reading, archery and biking.
Shiprayloi "Angel" CarterLead Teacher
Angel has been working with ACT since 2004. She started volunteering with us when she was 14 and started working here through a co-op program at her high school when she was 16. She loves working with the students and putting smiles on their faces. When she's not working, Angel enjoys writing, reading and listening to music.
Jill GossAssistant Program Coordinator
Jill has been working with ACT since 2010. She loves working with people with special needs and the camaraderie of her co-workers. When she’s not working, Jill enjoys solving New York Times crossword puzzles and working in her yard.
Rose TaylorAdmissions Coordinator
Rose has been working with ACT since 2012. She started out as a Special Education Teacher in public education, but wanted to begin working with people with special needs in the private sector. She feels like everyone at ACT is all one big family. When she's not working, Rose enjoys reading, walking and spending time with her adult children.
Shonta MartinBilling Specialist
Shonta has been working with ACT since 2007. She really enjoys the relationships she has formed with the clients. Working with them really makes her day. She also loves the relationships she has built with her co-workers. When she’s not working, Shonta enjoys reading, listening to music and having fun.
Laura has been working with ACT since 2000. Laura enjoys her relationships at ACT the most – she loves working with the clients and her fellow staff members. When she’s not working, Laura enjoys shopping and playing on the computer.
Mary Ann ZylaLife Skills Instructor
Mary Ann has been working at ACT since 2016. Before working at ACT, she was the Director of Adult Services at Easter Seals Southwest Florida for 12 years. She moved to Texas to help care for a sick friend and found a new home here at ACT. When she's not working, Mary Ann enjoys pirating, recreational shopping and re-purposing items.
Diedre "Dede" WagnerDay Hab Teacher
Dede has been working at ACT since 2016. She started working here because she wanted to do something important with her life. She loves all her clients for their enthusiasm and innocence. When she's not working, Dede enjoys gardening, watching Disney movies and lazing around on Sundays.
John Davila IIDay Hab Teacher
John has been working with ACT since 2015. John started out volunteering with us and liked it so much that he decided to start a career here. Bringing out smiles in the students is something he really enjoys here. When he's not working, John enjoys making smoked BBQ and collecting vinyl and vintage tools.
Cherri PetersDay Hab Teacher
Cherri has been working with ACT since 2016. She began her career here because she loves working with people with special needs. Spending time with the clients are her favorite part of her job. When she's not working, Cherri enjoys listening to music, playing cards and playing dominoes.
Barbara TooleyDay Hab Teacher
Barbara has been working with ACT since 2017. She decided to join the team here because she loves working with people with special needs. Her favorite part of her job is getting to spend time with the friendly clients and staff members. When she’s not working, Barbara enjoys reading and swimming.
Vanessa VanDykeDay Hab Teacher
Vanessa has been working with ACT since 2016. She started working at the center because she has a family member who has special needs. She loves her job because no two days are the same and the clients remind her to appreciate life. When she’s not working, Vanessa enjoys drawing, playing co-ed sports and doing DIY projects.
Lauren Johnson-WashingtonDay Hab Teacher
Lauren has been working with ACT since 2017. She started working with ACT because has a cousin with special needs and she wanted to better understand what he goes through in his daily life. Lauren says that working at ACT has brought a lot of joy to her life – coming to work doesn’t feel like coming to work. When she’s not working, Lauren enjoys swimming, singing and learning.
Chelsea Reavis-BondDay Hab Teacher
Chelsea has been working with ACT since 2017. She started working her because she has a passion for working with people with special needs. Her favorite part about her job is working with a team that enjoys helping others. When she's not working, Chelsea enjoys coloring, solving puzzles and taking care of her family.
Guadalupe CalderonDay Care Teacher
Guadalupe has been working with ACT since 2013. She started working at the center because she wanted to work with children and help them reach their highest potential. Her favorite part of coming to work is seeing her “kiddos.” When she’s not working, she likes to do arts and crafts.
Nancy SpencerDay Care Teacher
Nancy has been working with ACT since 2012. She dedicates her summers to us so she can continue working with children outside of the school year. Her favorite parts about working here are the "fabulous" staff and "precious" clients. When she's not working, Nancy enjoys reading mysteries, walking her dogs and playing ping-pong.
Sara ShubzdaTeacher Aide
Sara has been working with ACT since 2005. Sara started a career at the center because she loves working with people. Her favorite part of working her is greeting the parents and the clients with hugs. When she’s not working, Sara enjoys reading books, walking her dog, Harley, and dancing.
Christina CartierDay Hab Teacher
Christina started working with ACT in February 2011 but left in 2015 to become a full-time homemaker. She returned in September 2017 because she couldn’t see herself working anywhere else. She has a brother with special needs, and she developed a passion for working with people with disabilities over time. When Christina isn’t at work, she likes to spend time with her daughter, be outdoors and read.
Jessica ArdionDay Hab Teacher
Jessica has been working with ACT since October 2017. She joined the ACT team because she has a son with ADHD, and she feels like working with people with special needs helps her connect better with her son. She loves helping people, and this is the first job she’s ever loved. When Jessica isn’t working, she enjoys reading books with her son, watching Netflix and lifting people’s spirits.
Wesley PhelesDay Hab Teacher
Wesley has been working with ACT since September 2017. Wesley started working here because he has friends with special needs, and he wanted to make the lives of people with disabilities a little easier. When Wesley isn’t working, he likes to spend time with his family, go camping and fish.
