What Will You Do at ACT as a Volunteer?

At ACT, there are plenty of ways you can help out at the center or special events as a volunteer. Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Providing computer training.
  • Reading to students
  • Helping students read to themselves
  • Helping students complete math problems
  • Assisting students in learning functional living skills
  • Office assistance
  • Fundraising events
  • and much more!

What If Volunteering Makes You Want to Work at ACT?

Achievement Center of Texas is a wonderful place to work. Most of the employees have worked at the center for an average of 10 years. The staff is cheerful, helpful and compassionate – to the students and also to their peers.

Before you can become employed at ACT, you must first complete 16 hours of volunteer service with us. If you already have these hours under your belt, then you’re already a step ahead of the other applicants!

Can’t Donate Your Time?

The Achievement Center is a licensed, non-profit ISS (Individualized Skills and Socialization) facility specializing in the care and training of children and adults with disabilities and other special needs in the Dallas Metroplex.

We depend on the generosity of our supporters to help us so that we can continue to provide high quality services in a loving atmosphere. This is an expensive undertaking, but there are many ways one can help.

If you can’t donate your time by volunteering, you can donate supplies or cash.
