It’s hard to believe 2015 is gone and 2016 has arrived but we’re glad to move forward. The end of 2015 was tough for our Garland community because on December 26, 2015 a major weather disaster occurred on our doorstep.
Recovery efforts continue and we are currently (until 1/22/16) accepting donations at the center of the following items:
- Household utensils and small appliances (irons, toasters, mixers, coffee pots)
- Packaged items such as coffee, tea, soups, canned vegetables (not expired)
- Personal hygiene products like deodorant, lotion, soap, wash cloths, towels, body wash, socks, unused underwear
- Toys for kids
We are not accepting clothes because we do not have a place to store or organize them. The collection box/area is in the lobby of our facility at 2950 N. Shiloh, Garland, TX.
New Year, New Events
We begin the New Year planning our Spring events and January is a great time to let everyone know what is happening so you can MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
Saturday, March 19, 2016 is the date for the Special Arts Festival. It is a fun day with lots of activities and entertainment for all ages and abilities.
The 20th Annual Spring Gala is April 30, 2015 at the Dallas/Richardson Renaissance Hotel. We’re wrapping up the final details (can you say Mardi Gras?) and will be making announcements over the next few weeks. Save the Date because you won’t want to miss the fun!
The annual ACTion Walk/Run wrapped in November but we are already planning this year.
