2025 Pickleball Fundraiser
It’s summer. It’s hot. Solution? Play Pickleball indoor! Even more fun? Raise money to support ongoing services being provided by a local Garland nonprofit organization!
Okay, so a lot of you just want to play outside but one day inside having fun and meeting new people is a good thing!
Please keep in mind that as part of the registration, you are paying a bit more in support of Achievement Center of Texas. We appreciate your support! We can’t do it without generous supporters like you.
We are also looking for sponsors to help with tournament expenses. Interested? Click here….
If you’ve played in the Wylie/Sachse area, you probably know about Clemmer Classic. Staci and her group will be managing our tournament. Prepare to have fun and enjoy the day!
Venue – Granger Rec Center, Garland TX
1310 W. Avenue F | Garland, TX 75040
The event will be held in the gym which has 6 courts.
Scramblers
Scramblers – The morning sessions will be scramblers where you play doubles without set partners. You play with different partners and whoever has the most points wins. Each person will have a “bye” during the round.
There will be 3 Scrambler Round Robin divisions.
- Golden Girls (65+)
- Silver Foxes (65+
- Women’s
- Men’s
If there is sufficient interest, there will be two Scramblers for ages 14 – 20. It may be cancelled if there isn’t enough interest because we must have at least 5 for a team.
Doubles
There will be doubles tournaments for both Men and Women. These will be played in the second session.
Brackets
The 1st and 2nd place doubles will go to a bracketed session to determine overall winners.
Mixed Doubles
The last session of the day will be the Mixed Doubles.
There is a discount to play in more than one division. Be sure to sign up in the order they are presented so you don’t overlap. You can’t be in two places at the same time as they say.
This is a fun tournament but we have to be able to track scores, etc.. Swish is an app that is used to manage the tournament. You will need to download the Swish App and create an account. On tournament day, each person/division will have a barcode to scan. This will show you the other team members and information about your rotation. It will also be used to track your scores.
Swish also connects to DUPR so this is a great time, if you don’t already use it, to begin to build and track your tournament scores. You will receive instructions by text a day or two before the tournament with instructions that it’s time to be sure you’ve downloaded the app. If you’ve ever played in a Clemmer Classic tournament, you’re all set!
The registration form asks for your self assessed “player skill level” and DUPR rating (if you have one). This information enables the organizer to place players in groups with similar skill levels.

Food for thought…….
A lot of people think a nonprofit (or not for profit) organization doesn’t need to make money or that they have large donors or companies sheltering money for other purposes. It really only means that we don’t share profits with shareholders. We must continue to make money through services or donations to ensure we are able to continue our mission.
There may be some nonprofits who have a lot of discretionary money to spend but most service providers like Achievement Center of Texas, depend on donors to cover the gap between the cost of providing services and the current reimbursement rates dictated by Medicaid.
Did I mention that our Board of Director members are volunteers? They believe in the mission and provide much needed guidance for the organization.
We have been around for almost 48 years. We provide ISS (Individualized Skills & Socialization), formerly known as Day Habilitation. We provide a safe, inclusive and welcome environment for people 13+ with a variety of pre-diagnosed disabilities. Please visit our homepage for more information.
If you don’t play pickleball, you’re welcome to make a donation.
