Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What services are offered at Achievement Center of Texas?

A: We offer a number of services, ranging from day habilitation for adult students and day care services for our students under 12.

Q: How much does it cost to enroll my child in classes at Achievement Center of Texas?

A: Thank you so much for your interest in our program! We would love to have your child enrolled in classes here at our center. First, we need you to fill out an application and pay the application fee of $35.00. If your child or ward is accepted, services are paid for by the day or the week, depending on whether or not the fees are paid by your or an agency. Full pricing information can be found on our enrollment page.

Q: What services are included in pricing?

A: For children, we offer a full-service day care, which includes both indoor and outdoor recess, nap time, breakfast, lunch, snacks, academic lessons and art exploration.

For adults, we offer full-service day habilitation, which includes learning new life skills, acquiring independence, meal prep and service, learning effective communication, field trips, art exploration and more.

Q: Are there any special needs that Achievement Center of Texas won't service?

A: Yes. At this time, we do not have the resources to accommodate to incoming students with dual diagnoses with mental disorders or LON (Level of Need) 9.

Q: What is the ratio of staff to student?

A: The ratio differs by classroom. Two or three teachers supervise each class. Some classes have 30 students, others have 12 or 15. Two lead teachers and a program coordinator assist teachers.

Q: Can students who require therapy receive that therapy at the Achievement Center?

A: Yes, as long as parents, guardians or agencies carry out therapy during operating hours. Achievement Center of Texas does not provide therapy at this time.

Q: How is the Achievement Center of Texas funded?

A: Achievement Center of Texas contracts with various agencies, paid by the state. We do not contract with the State directly. If there is no agency placing a student with us, the parent or guardian pays the tuition.

Q: I can't donate money at this time. Is there any other way I can help Achievement Center of Texas?

A: Absolutely! We would love it if you became a volunteer with us to help out with day habilitation needs and setting up for events. Please fill out our volunteer application.
