2025 Pickleball Fundraiser Thank You

Thank you to everyone who came out on Saturday and played in our very first Achievement Center of Texas Pickleball Tournament! Thanks to our sponsors, board and staff volunteers who made it possible for me to play. It takes everyone to make these things work.

It was a fun day and I enjoyed meeting and playing with everyone. We learned some things and had some registration issues but overall, it was a success. We’ll take what we learned and improve on it for next year. Your feedback is appreciated.

One thing we learned is that in order to be able to more evenly match players/skill levels, we must have more players. We’ll work on getting more participation for next year which will fix that particular issue.

Please take a look at our sponsors. If any of them has a service you need, their logos are clickable for more information.

Until next year!

A lot of people think a nonprofit (or not for profit) organization doesn’t need to make money or that they have large donors or companies sheltering money for other purposes. It really only means that we don’t share profits with shareholders. We must continue to make money through services or donations to ensure we are able to continue our mission.

There may be some nonprofits who have a lot of discretionary money to spend but most service providers like Achievement Center of Texas, depend on donors to cover the gap between the cost of providing services and the current reimbursement rates dictated by Medicaid.

Did I mention that our Board of Director members are volunteers? They believe in the mission and provide much needed guidance for the organization.

We have been around for almost 48 years. We provide ISS (Individualized Skills & Socialization), formerly known as Day Habilitation. We provide a safe, inclusive and welcome environment for people 13+ with a variety of pre-diagnosed disabilities. Please visit our homepage for more information.

If you don’t play pickleball, you’re welcome to make a donation.
